For Israeli authors, the lengthy journey of translating and publishing their work abroad begins with a hefty price tag of around $20,000, the average cost for translating a book into English and other foreign languages. In this competitive landscape, many countries offer generous grants to international publishers, while the Israeli Institute for Hebrew Literature can provide only $1,000 per book.
Many valuable voices go unheard due to these financial obstacles.
This is why the ITHL launched the International Hebrew Literature Fund, designed to help more Israeli books reach readers worldwide. Every contribution, at any level, can give a book the wings it needs to cross borders and expand minds. Let the world read diverse Israeli voices!
